Welcome! This tool will walk you through the steps to design a ground-mounted solar array using Tamarack Solar’s trusted hardware.

Whether you’re a homeowner, installer, or project planner, we’ll help you figure out what you need so you’re ready to build with confidence.

Add your project details to personalize your generated plans and specifications. This information will appear on your downloadable PDF documents, making them ready for permit applications and review submissions.

  • All information you provide remains on your device
  • Nothing is stored on our servers or shared with third parties
  • Your completed documents will include these details for professional presentation

Complete as many fields as relevant to your installation project. This helps create documentation that meets most permitting requirements.

Let’s get down to building!

This configurator helps you design a custom ground mount solar system tailored to your unique requirements. Unlike pre-packaged kits, this tool creates a solution precisely matched to your needs – whether you’re building a small residential system or a larger installation with multiple columns and rows.

Need just one column?

For single-column installations (3 or 4 modules total), our pre-packaged Ground Mount Kits offer a simpler solution than this custom configurator. These kits contain all hardware except pipe and concrete, with clear guidelines for proper installation.

Design your solar array’s backbone: Choose your column layout and bracing options to optimize stability and cost.

Cost estimates update automatically based on your local material prices.

Column Selection

Choose your preferred column layout by clicking on one of the diagrams — either 3-module or 4-module columns.
For best aesthetics and material efficiency, choose a layout where your total module count is evenly divisible by 3 or 4.

  • 3 modules per column creates a wider array with more rows.

  • 4 modules per column builds a taller, narrower array.

Once you select a layout, the chosen diagram will be highlighted.

Bracing Options

If Cross Bracing is available , you’ll see two additional options below the diagrams:
WITH BRACING and WITHOUT BRACING . Bracing is only available when the ground slope is flat (0°). If you’ve entered any slope — even a slight south-facing one — bracing won’t be offered.

  • Selecting WITH BRACING allows for wider vertical pier spacing, which often reduces the number of piers needed — saving time, excavation, and concrete.

  • WITHOUT BRACING results in closer pier spacing but may be required on sloped terrain.

  • Pipe quantities are generally similar either way, due to additional bracing components.

Click your preferred option — the selection will be highlighted when active.
